by Shannon Cavender / Carolina Hurricanes

RALEIGH, NC—On Sunday, Jan. 10, the Carolina Hurricanes will host ASC Construction Equipment Volvo Rents Military Appreciation Night presented by USfalcon, as the team takes on the Ottawa Senators at 5 p.m. This marks the seventh season that the Hurricanes have hosted Military Appreciation Night as an opportunity to thank servicemen and women for their contributions, as well as raise awareness about the branches of the military.

Prior to the game, there will be a special display of military equipment on the RBC Center’s South lawn, including a variety of vehicles and weapons from most branches of the military. Inside the RBC Center, the branches of the military will each have tables set up on the main concourse. The color guard will be presented by the Marine Corps, and various active, reserve and retired members of the military will be recognized during the game.

The Hurricanes donated several thousand tickets for the game to local military bases, and many suite clients have also donated their tickets for the game. All members of the military are invited to take advantage of a special military appreciation rate for tickets to the game. Armed forces personnel may purchase lower-level tickets for $25, and upper-level tickets for $15, at the Time Warner Cable Box Office at the RBC Center with valid military identifications. The offer excludes the upper goal zone, the Lexus Champions Club and the Ledge Lounge.

Beginning with Sunday’s game, the Hurricanes and the USO of North Carolina will host a Military Drive to collect items for the U.S. military.  Fans can bring items to the RBC Center box office to receive a buy-one-get one-free ticket voucher redeemable for the Jan. 18 game against Tampa Bay.
