RALEIGH, NC - The Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League will host their Military Appreciation Day presented by Celito on Sunday, Feb. 18, when the team welcomes the New Jersey Devils to PNC Arena. Military Appreciation Day will honor both men and women for their service and commitment to our country, as well as raise awareness about the branches of the military.

The Hurricanes will wear special jerseys honoring the military during pregame warm-ups. The jerseys of Jaccob Slavin, Justin Faulk and Noah Hanifin will be auctioned off through the Kids 'N Community Foundation's

, and Slavin, Faulk and Hanifin will personally award their jerseys to the winning bidders after the game. The remaining jerseys will be auctioned off online. All proceeds will benefit the Kids 'N Community Foundation.
Prior to Sunday's game, fans can enjoy a special display of military equipment and vehicles on the PNC Arena South Plaza, beginning at 3 p.m. A Blackhawk UH-60 helicopter will land on the South Plaza at 1 p.m. and is scheduled to takeoff following the conclusion of the game.
The Fort Bragg 82nd Airborne Division's All-American Chorus will perform the U.S. national anthem prior to Sunday's game and will perform during each intermission. During the anthem, the colors will be presented by the Fort Bragg 82nd Airborne Division's color guard team, and the Rappel team from Fort Bragg will drop the ceremonial pre-game puck. During the second intermission, the Carolina Sled Hockey team, which includes both veteran and active duty members, will play a 4-on-4 scrimmage. In addition, various active and reserve members of the military will be recognized and honored throughout the game.
Coinciding with this year's Military Appreciation Game, the Hurricanes are hosting a Military Appreciation Drive through Sunday, Feb. 18. Donations of granola bars, chewing gum or beef jerky will be accepted at the VIP entrance of PNC Arena during normal business hours and at all entrances on Feb. 16 and Feb. 18 game nights. Fans who donate one of the above items will be entered for a chance to win prizes such as tickets to a future home game, a Military Appreciation team-signed replica jersey and more. All donations benefit the USO of North Carolina.
