RALEIGH, NC – Jon Chase, Director of Community Relations and Promotions for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today confirmed details for the team’s 2012 NHL Entry Draft Party at Rudino’s Sports Corner on Friday, June 22. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m., with NBC Sports Network’s television coverage beginning at 7 p.m. The Hurricanes hold the eighth pick in the draft’s first round.

The Draft Party will feature appearances by Hurricanes long-time television play-by-play voice John Forslund, former Carolina player and current Youth and Amateur Hockey Coordinator Shane Willis, Stormy, the Eye Care Associates Storm Squad and Ron the Ref. As in the past, there will be games, raffles and contests, including the annual Draft Challenge, where one fan will win a Hurricanes jersey.

This marks the third consecutive year Rudino’s Sports Corner has hosted the team’s draft party. In June 2010, fans gathered there as Carolina selected Jeff Skinner with the seventh overall pick, and watched last year as the team selected defenseman Ryan Murphy with the 12th pick.

Rudino’s Sports Corner is located in the Olde Raleigh Village shopping center, at 3101 Edwards Mill Rd., at the corner of Edwards Mill and Duraleigh Rds.
