by Ken Preston / Carolina Hurricanes
RALEIGH, NC – Jon Chase, Director of Community Relations and Promotions for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today confirmed details for the team’s 2014 NHL Draft Party at Buffalo Brothers on Friday, June 27. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m., with draft coverage starting at 7 p.m. on NBC Sports Network. The Hurricanes hold the seventh pick in the draft’s first round.

Hurricanes television play-by-play voice John Forslund, and Shane Willis, the team’s youth and amateur hockey coordinator and 2001 NHL All-Rookie Team member, will emcee the event. Forslund and Willis will offer insight on drafted players and the draft process, as well as answer fans’ questions about the team.

As in the past, there will be games, raffles and contests with prizes that include autographed items, team memorabilia and gear from The Eye team store. Also returning this year is the Draft Challenge, where one fan will win a Hurricanes jersey for correctly guessing the most draft picks. Stormy and members of the Eye Care Associates Storm Squad also will be on hand, and the slap shot booth will be available for fans to enjoy.

Buffalo Brothers is located at 4025 Lake Boone Trail, Suite 100, in Raleigh, between Rex Hospital and the I-440 Beltline.
