RALEIGH, NC – Jon Chase, Director of Community Relations and Promotions for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced the details of Fan Appreciation Week. This year’s Fan Appreciation Week will be held in conjunction with the team’s final two regular-season home games, April 4 against Philadelphia, and April 11 against Detroit.

Prior to the 1 p.m. start of the April 4 game, fans can enjoy a south plaza party, featuring live music by Scarlett, an inflatable obstacle course, a Hurricanes moon bounce, street hockey, the slap shot booth, food and beverage and interactive sponsor booths. During the third period of the April 4 game, a trip for two to the 2015 NHL Draft in Sunrise, FL, will be given away in conjunction with the team’s “30 Prizes in 30 Days” promotion. All fans that renew or purchase new seats prior to the end of the first intermission of the game will be entered for a chance to win.

Following Saturday’s game, select fans will be invited onto the ice to receive an authentic jersey directly from a Hurricanes player. Fans can participate in the “Jersey Off a Players Back” experience in several ways. Nathan Gerbe’s jersey will be available via silent auction at the Kids ‘N Community Foundation kiosk located outside of Section 129. Brett Bellemore’s and Brad Malone’s jerseys will be available via the #CaniacNation Vending Machine (details below), and there will be several contests during the game to determine the winners of select player jerseys.

After the “Jersey Off a Players Back” ceremony, fans 16 and under can come down to the ice and take a shot on goal for Slap Shot Saturday presented by FOX Sports Carolinas.

On April 11, the first 10,000 fans entering PNC Arena will receive a Carolina Hurricanes hat prior to the team’s 7 p.m. game against Detroit. Once again, fans can enjoy a south plaza party prior to the game, featuring live music from Peak City Sound and all of the usual south plaza party attractions.
