Canes Reduce Camp Roster to 27 Players

RALEIGH, NC—Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has assigned five players to its American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Albany River Rats. The Hurricanes training camp roster now stands at 27 players.

Forwards Drayson Bowman and Steven Goertzen, defensemen Bryan Rodney and Brett Carson, and goaltender Justin Peters were assigned to Albany. The River Rats open their 2009 training camp on Wednesday, Sept. 23.

An updated version of the Hurricanes’ training camp roster can be found here. Carolina will next practice at the RBC Center on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
