RALEIGH, NC - Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Morgan Geekie to the team's taxi squad from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Geekie, 22, has skated in nine NHL games this season. He posted four points (3g, 1a) in two games with Carolina last season and tallied one assist in eight postseason games with the Hurricanes. After being assigned to Chicago on Feb. 18, Geekie recorded five points (4g, 1a) in two AHL games and was named AHL Player of the Week on Feb. 22. He also tallied 88 points (41g, 47a) in 128 career AHL games with Charlotte from 2018-20. The 6'2", 192-pound forward also registered 18 points (8g, 10a) in 19 postseason games with the Checkers in 2019 as they won their first Calder Cup championship. Geekie also played 216 Western Hockey League (WHL) games with Tri-City from 2014-18, earning 202 points (78g, 124a). The Strathclair, Man., native was drafted by the Hurricanes in the third round, 67th overall, of the 2017 NHL Draft.
