RALEIGH, NC - Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Morgan Geekie from the team's taxi squad on an emergency basis.

Geekie, 22, has registered four points (3g, 1a) in two career NHL games with Carolina. He made his NHL debut on March 8, 2020, posting three points (2g, 1a) at Pittsburgh. Geekie skated in all eight of Carolina's postseason games in 2020, tallying one assist. He has recorded 88 points (41g, 47a) in 128 career American Hockey League (AHL) games, all with Charlotte. The 6'2", 192-pound forward earned 18 points (8g, 10a) in 19 AHL playoff games with the Checkers in 2019 as the team won their first-ever Calder Cup championship. Geekie posted 202 points (78g, 124a) in 216 Western Hockey League (WHL) games with Tri-City from 2014-18. The Strathclair, Man., native was drafted by the Hurricanes in the third round, 67th overall, of the 2017 NHL Draft.
