– Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled defenseman Michal Jordan
(MIH-kahl yohr-DAHN) from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).
This marks the second NHL recall for Jordan, 22, who is in his third professional season. The Zlin, Czech Republic native appeared in five games with Carolina from Feb. 14-24, averaging 10:41 of ice time per game. Jordan has scored six goals and earned nine assists (15 points) in 48 games this season with Charlotte this season, and represented the Checkers in the 2013 AHL All-Star Game in Providence, RI on Jan. 28. Drafted by Carolina in the fourth round, 105th overall, of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Jordan (6’1”, 195 lbs.) has notched 14 goals and earned 41 assists in 191 career AHL regular-season games with the Checkers.
