– Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Brett Sutter
on an emergency basis from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). He will join the Hurricanes for the team’s game tonight at Washington (7 p.m., FOX Sports Carolinas, Hurricanes Radio Network).
Sutter, 26, averaged 6:56 of ice time per game in 12 games for the Hurricanes this season before he was assigned to Charlotte on Nov. 4. Since joining the Checkers, the Viking, Alb., native has scored two goals and earned 12 assists (14 points) in 22 games. Sutter (6’0”, 200 lbs.) has skated in 49 career NHL regular-season games with Calgary and Carolina, totaling one goal, four assists (5 points) and 36 penalty minutes.
