Lenovo will host the campers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Campers will experience a virtual reality tour, visit Lenovo's Innovation Center and Product Lab, and learn about the inner workings of a computer before playing floor hockey with Hurricanes defenseman Haydn Fleury.
The Carolina Hurricanes Kids 'N Community Foundation funds programs and services that enhance the lives of kids, specifically underserved populations, in our community. During the 2017-18 season, the Kids 'N Community Foundation donated $495,000 in grant monies to 24 children's charities and youth hockey organizations in North Carolina, including the Autism Society of North Carolina. Since the establishment of the Foundation in 1997, more than $14.5 million in cash grants has been awarded to nonprofit organizations in our community.
Lenovo is a longtime supporter of the Carolina Hurricanes, the Kids 'N Community Foundation and numerous statewide educational initiatives. Lenovo is the title sponsor of the Carolina Hurricanes Alumni Game, which raises money for the Kids 'N Community Foundation to grant to local nonprofits, and has partnered with the Hurricanes on community events for Book Harvest (2017) and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Wake County (2016).
