RALEIGH, NC. -The Carolina Hurricanes shared Friday that the team has issued a qualifying offer to defenseman Dylan Coghlan.

Due ahead of today's 5 p.m. deadline, the team will now retain the rights to the pending restricted free agent.

Coghlan, 25, played in 17 games with Carolina this past season after being acquired from the Vegas Golden Knights in July of 2022. The right-handed defenseman registered three assists in those contests and also published three points in five games in the American Hockey League (AHL) during a conditioning stint in December.

Conversely, the team did not extend offers to Jesse Puljujarvi, Dominik Bokk, or Stelio Mattheos.

Puljujarvi, 25, also played in 17 contests with the Canes during the 2022-23 campaign after being acquired ahead of the trade deadline from the Edmonton Oilers. He produced two assists.

It was reported Thursday by TSN Insider Chris Johnston that the forward recently underwent double hip surgery and is expected to be out of action for an extended period of time.

Mattheos, 24, skated in 20 games for Carolina's AHL affiliate this past season. In four professional seasons, the forward totaled 27 points in 112 AHL games.

All three players will now become unrestricted free agents.
