RALEIGH, NC—The Carolina Hurricanes/FOX Sports Carolinas game-production crew was honored on Saturday in Nashville at the 24th annual Midsouth Emmy Awards for Best Sports Event/Game Presentation. The crew – including executive producer Hammond Reynolds, coordinating producer Rohan Backfisch, producer Erik Barnhart, director Ric LaCivita, play-by-play John Forslund and color analyst Tripp Tracy – received the Emmy for its coverage of Game 7 of the 2009 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. The Hurricanes scored twice in the final 1:20 of regulation of Game 7 beat New Jersey 4-3 at the Prudential Center in Newark and advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
The Midsouth Emmy Awards are granted by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and were presented at Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville on Saturday, Jan. 30.
