FOX Sports Carolinas’ coverage of live Hurricanes games in 2011-12 will include 37 of the team’s 41 road games throughout the 82-game regular season. As always, John Forslund will handle the play-by-play duties while former professional goaltender Tripp Tracy will provide analysis.
The network’s coverage will kick off with the Hurricanes’ opening night game at the RBC Center on Oct. 7, against Tampa Bay, and will continue with nine of the team’s 10 other October games. FOX Sports Carolinas then will cover 22 of the Hurricanes’ 29 games in November and December.
As the calendar turns to 2012, 37 of Carolina’s final 42 regular-season games will be televised between FOX Sports Carolinas and the NHL’s national rightsholder, including all 22 of the team’s road games in that span. In all, 71 of the Hurricanes’ 82 regular-season games, including 39 of 41 road games, will be available throughout North Carolina via most television providers’ standard packages. Additionally, 53 of FOX Sports Carolinas’ games will be available to viewers in South Carolina, with 43 of those games being carried throughout Georgia and parts of Alabama in the television territory that belonged to the now-relocated Atlanta Thrashers.Click here for a copy of the 2011-12 television schedule.
