RALEIGH, NC – Jon Chase, Director of Community Relations and Promotions for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced the details of Fan Appreciation Week, which will be held in conjunction with the team’s final three regular-season home games, April 3-9.
On Sunday, April 3, the Hurricanes will host the Buffalo Sabres at 5 p.m. at the RBC Center. Beginning at 3 p.m., fans can enjoy a Front Lawn Party presented by Custom Home Exteriors. The event will feature live music, an inflatable obstacle course, a Hurricanes moon bounce, street hockey, the slap shot booth and food and beverage on the RBC Center’s front lawn. Also at the lawn party, Stormy will celebrate his birthday with fellow mascots, as they participate in the Mascot Olympics. Competitions will include an obstacle race, bull riding, a joust and more.
All fans inside the building on April 3 will receive a limited edition Jeff Skinner wall cling sponsored by RBC Bank Great Save with removable clings of the Hurricanes’ primary and secondary logos, as well as a “Skinner 53” logo. Following the game, fans 16 and younger will have the opportunity go onto the ice to take a shot on goal at Slap Shot Sunday sponsored by FOX Sports Carolinas.
On Wednesday, April 6, the team will take on the Detroit Red Wings at 7 p.m. at the RBC Center. The first 14,000 fans through the doors will receive a limited edition Carolina Hurricanes hat, courtesy of Chevrolet. This year’s hat features the Hurricanes’ secondary logo imprinted on a black hat.
On Saturday, April 9, fans can enjoy Family Night at the RBC Center as the Hurricanes host the Tampa Bay Lightning in the team’s final regular-season home game. Four-ticket packages will be available in advance, starting at $39, and every Family Night features $1 hot dogs. In keeping with game-week pricing, the special Family Night ticket offers expire one week prior to the game.
Also on April 9, fans can again enjoy the Front Lawn Party presented by Custom Home Exteriors beginning at 5 p.m.. All fans in attendance will receive a 2010-11 team poster, courtesy of the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Following the game, selected lucky fans will be invited onto the ice to receive an authentic jersey directly from a Hurricanes player.
