, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Brody Sutter
on a one-year, two-way contract. The deal will play Sutter $600,000 at the NHL level, or $115,000 at the American Hockey League (AHL) level in 2016-17.
Sutter, 24, completed his fourth full professional season in 2015-16, skating in eight games with the Hurricanes and playing 70 games with Carolina’s AHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers. The Viking, Alb., native ranked tied for fifth among Checkers skaters last season with 13 goals, and he finished the season with 24 points. Sutter (6’5”, 203 lbs.) has skated in 12 career NHL regular-season games since making his Hurricanes debut in the 2014-15 season, and has notched 37 goals and earned 46 assists (83 points) in 211 career AHL regular-season games with the Checkers. Carolina drafted Sutter in the seventh round, 193rd overall, in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
