Five-Hole Event Open to the Public


RALEIGH, NC – Carolina Hurricanes Alternate Captain Kevyn Adams and right wing Jesse Boulerice will represent the team at a five-hole Skins game as part of Carolina Hurricanes Day at the SAS Championship on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary. The event is free of charge to the public, courtesy of the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Skins game features two pairings: Adams and Champions Tour player Bruce Fleisher and Boulerice and Champions Tour player D.A. Weibring. Members of the Blue Cross/Blue Shield of North Carolina Storm Squad and Hurricanes mascot, Stormy, will be on hand, and 850 The Buzz host Morgan Patrick will emcee the event.

Carolina Hurricanes Day at the SAS Championship will also feature an 18-hole Pro-Am event at 7:30 a.m., the Sports Council Tee-Off Luncheon with Curtis Strange as the featured speaker at noon, a walking clinic with Jim Colbert at 1:30 p.m. and The First Tee of Wake County youth clinic with Gary McCord at 5 p.m. The walking clinic, Skins game and youth clinic are open to the public. The Hurricanes’ 2005 training camp continues today with off-site team-building activities. The team will have workouts on Tuesday and Wednesday beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the RecZone before departing Wednesday afternoon for Florida. Carolina plays their final two games of the 2005 preseason at Florida on Thursday at 7 p.m. and at Tampa Bay on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

The Hurricanes open the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at Tampa Bay before returning to Raleigh for its home opener against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday, Oct. 7.
