Canes Activate Walker from Injured Reserve

RALEIGH, NC—Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that right wing Scott Walker has been activated from injured reserve.

Walker, 35, has missed the Hurricanes’ last 15 games with an upper-body injury, and is expected to play tonight as Carolina takes on the Washington Capitals at the Verizon Center. The Cambridge, Ont., native is in his third season with the Hurricanes, and has scored three goals and earned 10 assists (13 points) in 34 games this season. Walker (5’10”, 196 lbs.) has scored 144 goals and earned 243 assists (387 points) in 780 career regular-season games with Vancouver, Nashville and Carolina since breaking into the NHL during the 1994-95 season.
