RALEIGH, NC - Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has activated defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk from injured reserve.

Van Riemsdyk, 26, has missed Carolina's last three games after suffering a concussion in his Hurricanes debut on Oct. 7 against Minnesota. The Middletown, NJ, native has registered 31 points (8g, 23a) in 159 career games.
