RALEIGH, NC—Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has activated right wing Erik Cole from injured reserve. Cole, 30, has missed Carolina’s last 10 games after suffering a broken bone in his leg in the team’s second game of the season at Boston on Oct. 3.
The Hurricanes host the San Jose Sharks today in a 1:30 p.m. matinee at the RBC Center (Hurricanes Radio Network). The Hurricanes will honor winger Ray Whitney prior to the game for achieving the career milestone of 1,000 regular-season games played when he skated in the team’s game at the New York Islanders on Oct. 21. Tickets to today’s game and all Hurricanes home games in November are available at the Time Warner Cable Box Office at the RBC Center, via Ticketmaster or at www.CarolinaHurricanes.com. Single-game tickets to the team’s home games in December will go on sale tomorrow, Monday, Nov. 2, at 10 a.m.
