Bayda reassigned to Albany

RALEIGH, NC— Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has activated winger Erik Cole from injured reserve. To make room for Cole on the roster, the team reassigned left wing Ryan Bayda to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League, the Hurricanes’ top minor-league affiliate.

Cole, 29, has missed Carolina’s four games from Nov. 14-21, after being removed from the ice on a stretcher when he sustained a neck injury in the Hurricanes’ game at Florida on Nov. 12. The Oswego, NY, native is in his sixth NHL season and has scored three goals and earned nine assists (12 points) in 14 games this season.

Bayda, 26, was recalled to Carolina on Nov. 9 and played in three games during his recall. The Saskatoon, Sask., native has played in seven games with the Hurricanes this season.
