Canes Activate Bellemore from Injured Reserve

RALEIGH, NCRon Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has activated defenseman Brett Bellemore from injured reserve. In addition, the team placed forward Alexander Semin on injured reserve with a lower-body injury.

Bellemore, 26, has missed the team’s last seven games with a lower-body injury. The Windsor, Ont., native registered three assists and a plus-1 rating in 13 games this season prior to being placed on injured reserve on Nov. 25. Selected by the Hurricanes in the sixth round (162nd overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Bellemore (6’4”, 225 lbs.) has totaled two goals and 11 assists (13 points) in 85 career NHL games with Carolina.
