The third day of the VGK Road Trip presented by Vegas started strong at Idaho IceWorld in Boise as the group arrived to an excited group of Golden Knights fans. The two-rink facility packed with fans and young hockey players looking for a taste of the region's latest sensation.
Defenseman Jon Merrill joined the festivities and participated in a youth hockey clinic with more than 60 local children. Drills were set up for skaters of all levels designed to combine skating, shooting and passing.

Merrill said playing with the blue pucks designed to be lighter for children was a first for him because they hadn't been invented when he was a young hockey player.
After he gave the kids pointers on shooting and crossovers, he signed autographs and posed for pictures with Golden Knights fans of all ages. Shane Hnidy and Dave Goucher chatted with fans about what it's like to be an announcer on AT&T SportsNet for Golden Knights broadcasts - Goucher even helped out on the ice to show off his rusty hockey moves.
Following a successful on-ice session, the group spent some time at Albertsons Stadium on the campus of Boise State University. The group took photos and tossed a football around on the iconic blue field the Broncos play on.
Boise showed the passion for the team reached Idaho and brought another state into the realm of Golden Knights fandom. Next up, we'll check in with the supporters in Jackson Hole!
Chance's Corner:
HEY FANS!!!!
I found out today that I'm a multi-sport Gila monster after playing hockey AND football in the same day! We had an awesome time on the ice in Boise today and hanging out fans from the Gem State. I got scored on quite a bit… must be the long bus rides.
I did have some better luck on the football field at Albertsons Stadium! I caught a few passes on the blue Boise State football field and didn't get flagged for excessive celebration.
We're back at it in Jackson Hole on Thursday! Chance-OUT!
