Mark Stone opened the scoring with the fastest home playoff goal in franchise history, finding the back of the net 16 seconds into the contest. Max Pacioretty followed up with a goal on the power play but San Jose cut the lead in half before the end of the first period. Paul Stastny extended the lead to 4-1 after posting two goals during the second stanza. Stone scored early in the final period, but the Sharks made a push, scoring two goals in less than a minute. Stone clinched the game after collecting his third goal of the game and recording his first career hat trick. Both Stone (3G, 2A) and Stastny (2G, 3A) recorded five point games, the most in franchise history.

The Vegas Golden Knights captured their first victory at T-Mobile Arena during the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs and took a 2-1 series lead on the San Jose Sharks. With the 6-3 victory, the Golden Knights are the first franchise in NHL history to hold a lead in each of its first five all-time playoff series.
