With the World Junior Championships being cut short due to cases of COVID-19, focus on the VGK prospects flips to the southeast part of the valley in Henderson. The past two seasons have been anything but ordinary, but Golden Knights' prospects have taken tremendous strides in their game with the Silver Knights.

Logan Thompson:
Goaltender Logan Thompson has been a player to watch now for the last two seasons. Thompson recently made his long-awaited NHL debut with the Golden Knights. He made 23 saves in a 3-2 loss but made several impressive stops in his first outing as he tried to show he belongs. This opportunity came after a season in Henderson in which he was named goaltender of the year in the AHL and continued his great play in net this season. Thompson has made 19 starts with the Silver Knights this year and has posted a 2.53 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage.
Pavel Dorofeyev:
Forward Pavel Dorofeyev is playing his second season in North America and has become a key contributor on the Silver Knights roster. The young Russian forward has high-end puck skills and is dangerous from anywhere on the ice. Now that he is acclimated to playing on the smaller North American ice surface, Dorofeyev is stamping his name on scoresheets on a consistent basis. Leading his team in points, Dorofeyev has notched 22 points (11 G, 11 A) in 26 games played this season.
Ben Jones:
Forward Ben Jones seems to be hitting his stride now in the pro ranks. The 22-year-old has matched his 16-point totals from last season in 14 fewer games. Since leaving the Niagara IceDogs of the OHL, Jones has consistently developed each year. In just 2019-20 he was playing down in the ECHL with Fort Wayne and now this season, he has earned a couple of games in the NHL with Vegas.
Jonas Rondbjerg:
Forward Jonas Rondbjerg has been exciting to watch grow. An injury slowed him down in 2020-21 but the 22-year-old Danish prospect has overcome the injury and is one of the most valuable two-way players in the AHL. Rondbjerg has earned himself 13 points (7 G, 6 A) in 14 games played with the Silver Knights. He also stepped up and skated in 13 games with the Golden Knights. Rondbjerg passed that test with flying colors and earned four points (2 G, 2 A) during his opportunity with Vegas.
Although leagues still can't operate at complete normalcy yet, the youth is still persevering and developing nicely. With the fluidity of leagues everywhere comes more opportunity - and these guys have continued to step up when called upon.
