VEGAS (September 6, 2019) - The Vegas Golden Knights and the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation announced today, September 6, the sponsorship of multiple Nevada Youth Sports Leagues: the Nevada Alliance Soccer League, Nevada Youth Football League, Spring Valley Little League, Central Little League of Las Vegas, Girls Youth Basketball Las Vegas, and the Doc Pearson Basketball League*. The sponsorships will be funded by the Vegas Golden Knights and the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation.
As a part of this collaboration, the Golden Knights and the Golden Knights Foundation will help aid the purchase of equipment, uniforms featuring the VGK logo and other supplies for their respective teams. The Golden Knights hope that by encouraging kids to take part in the sport of their choosing, Nevada's youth will be emboldened to stay active, learn important life skills like sportsmanship and leadership, focus on overall wellness and have fun. For those who currently play hockey or would like to play hockey in the future, the young athletes will then bring some of the skills they have learned from other sports to the ice when they show up for hockey practice.

"We are excited to sponsor six of Nevada's premiere youth sports leagues this season," said Vegas Golden Knights Chief Marketing Officer Brian Killingsworth. "We are supportive of kids playing multiple different sports in Las Vegas because of the positive impact it has on their growth as athletes. Kids who participate in two or more sports learn important life lessons and athletic skills unique to those particular activities, which ultimately can make them better hockey players."
The Nevada Alliance Soccer League is the longest standing youth, recreational and developmental soccer league in Southern Nevada for boys and girls aged 4-14. Their mission is to provide a fun athletic atmosphere, and encourage great sportsmanship in all facets of competition, through the sport of soccer.
The Nevada Youth Football League was established in 1997 and has operated as one of the primary youth football organizations since that time. The league hopes to alleviate some of the financial burden on kids and their families by not requiring them to pay league fees. The NYFL will be home to approximately 45 youth football teams for kids aged 4-14.
Girls Youth Basketball Las Vegas is a non-profit designed to focus on the growth of girls' youth basketball. GYBLV's goal is to empower and inspire girls to grow physically and mentally through the game of basketball, so they can realize their full potential both on and off the court.
Spring Valley Little League offers spring and fall baseball for boys and girls aged 4-14 in the Central-Southwestern area of Las Vegas. The goal of SVLL is to assist youth in developing qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being.
Central Little League of Las Vegas offers little league baseball for boys and girls ages 4-14 and little league girls' softball for ages 5-18.
The Doc Pearson Basketball League plays at Pearson Community Center in North Las Vegas and is part of Clark County Parks and Recreation. *Please note this sponsorship is pending approval from the Clark County Commission.
These Nevada Youth Sports sponsorships are in addition to the regular support from the team and the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation of the Vegas Junior Golden Knights hockey program.
