Vegas Outdueled By Oilers, 4-2

Homestand ends for Golden Knights with loss

In their final game of a four-game homestand, the Vegas Golden Knights (11-10-4) were beaten by the Edmonton Oilers (15-7-3), 4-2, on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.

HOW IT WENT DOWN
Connor McDavid got the visitors on the board just 5:17 into the contest and Ethan Bear added to the Edmonton lead late in the frame to put the Oilers up, 2-0. Cody Eakin smacked home a loose puck for his third goal of the year to get Vegas on the board with 20 seconds left in the opening period. After a Marcus Granlund goal for the Oilers, Shea Theodore weaved through the Edmonton defense and slipped home his second goal of the season. McDavid potted his second goal of the night early in the third period and the 4-2 edge held through the final horn.

TOP PERFORMERS
Cody Eakin: Eakin registered his third goal in four games to get Vegas in on the scoring.

Shea Theodore: Theodore's highlight-reel goal made it a one-goal game in the middle frame.

Connor McDavid: McDavid's two goals powered Edmonton's offense in the win.

Leon Draisaitl: Draisaitl recorded three assists for the Oilers in the victory.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Golden Knights hit the road for a two-game swing which opens Monday against the Dallas Stars at 5:30 p.m. PT at American Airlines Center.
