The Vegas Golden Knights (24-18-6) were defeated by the Columbus Blue Jackets (22-16-8), 3-0, on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Columbus opened the scoring late in the first period and extended the lead to 2-0 early in the second. Reilly Smith hit the crossbar early in the third period, narrowly missing the goal that would have cut the lead in half. A goal from Alexander Wennberg and a shutdown performance from Elvis Merzlikins sealed the 3-0 win for the Blue Jackets.
