VEGAS (June 12, 2018) - Vegas Golden Knights General Manager George McPhee announced today, June 12, that the team has signed forward Brooks Macek. Macek signed a one-year contract worth an NHL average annual value of $650,000 and an American Hockey League Base Salary of $175,000.
Macek previously competed in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga in Germany with the Eishockeyclub Red Bull München, appearing in 50 games and finishing with 44 points (26 G, 18 A). His 26 goals during the regular season led the DEL. The Winnipeg, MB native also appeared in 17 playoff games, finishing with 15 points (8 G, 7 A), and led the EHC Red Bull München to its third straight DEL championship on April 26, 2018. He also helped lead Germany to a silver medal during the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in South Korea, finishing with four points (2 G, 2 A) in seven games. Macek was selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the sixth round (171st overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
