VEGAS (September 24, 2019) - Vegas Golden Knights President Kerry Bubolz announced today, September 24, that the organization has entered into a partnership with Smith's Food & Drug stores. The partnership designates Smith's as the official grocery store of the Golden Knights.
To commemorate the launch, the team will be rolling out five exclusive player patches to be sold only at Clark County Smith's stores.
Starting September 25, Golden Knights fans can purchase the exclusive player patches at customer checkout lanes in any Clark County Smith's stores. A total of five "caricatures" player patches will be featured and a different patch will be released over 10 weeks. The retail price is $9.99. The patches celebrate and venerate stand out players who have reached different milestones in their hockey career. The patches are designed to be ironed on hockey jerseys or sports jackets for fans to celebrate their favorite players.
Player patches will be released on the following days:
September 25: Max Pacioretty
October 9: Deryk Engelland
October 23: Marc-Andre Fleury
November 6: Ryan Reaves
November 20: William Karlsson
"Smith's has made it a priority to put community first, just like the Golden Knights," said Vegas Golden Knights President Kerry Bubolz. "We're excited to partner with a brand whose ethos are so closely aligned with our own, and to connect with Vegas Born fans every day at Smith's stores. The player patches will give our great fans another creative way to Knight Up and show their support for the team."
"We have a limited supply of these collectible player patches, so fans of the Golden Knights should jump on this opportunity to collect all five patches before supplies run out," said Bryan Sant, Smith's Vice President of Merchandising.
Smith's will also host food drives in collaboration with the Golden Knights, will be featured in the team's in-arena branding and will have a Smith's branded Zamboni at City National Arena.
