The Vegas Golden Knights fell to the Detroit Red Wings 3-2 on Sunday night at Little Caesars Arena in the final game of a four-game trip.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Jonathan Marchessault put Vegas on the board in the first with a 2-on-1 tally assisted by Reilly Smith. Detroit would answer in the closing seconds of the frame with a power-play goal from Andreas Athanasiou. Midway through the second period, Max Pacioretty put his team back on top and Vegas had a one-goal lead heading into the second intermission. In the third period, Madison Bowey evened the scoring for the Red Wings before Anthony Mantha scored the game winner in the final 30 seconds as the Golden Knights fell, 3-2.

TURNING POINT
Detroit overcame a late deficit, as Mantha's tally completed the comeback with just 30 seconds to go.

Max Pacioretty: Pacioretty continued his strong play, scoring his fourth goal in the last five games.
Jonathan Marchessault: The forward's fourth goal of the season gave Vegas an early lead.
Nicolas Roy: Roy found Pacioretty with a cross-ice feed in the second period for his first NHL assist.
