Shea Theodore scored at 2:05 of overtime to propel the Vegas Golden Knights (42-31-5) to a 4-3 win against the Washington Capitals (43-23-11) on Wednesday night at T-Mobile Arena.

HOW IT WENT DOWN
Evgeny Kuznetsov scored the game's first goal at 6:18 of the opening period to put Washington up, 1-0. A seeing-eye wrist shot from Alec Martinez tied the game at 1-1 and the teams entered the intermission level. Alex Ovechkin's 49th goal of the season was the only strike in the second period as the Capitals took a 2-1 lead into the third period. Evgenii Dadonov and Chandler Stephenson scored 49 seconds apart to give Vegas its first lead of the night early in the third. Ovechkin potted his 50th goal of the season at 13:36 of the third to tie the game at 3-3. In overtime, Theodore walked around T.J. Oshie and lifted a backhand shot past Ilya Samsonov to lock in the 4-3 win for Vegas.
