The Vegas Golden Knights (38-24-8) scored twice in the final 1:10 to defeat the Calgary Flames (36-27-7), 5-3, on Sunday evening at ScotiaBank Saddledome.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
The Golden Knights opened a 2-0 lead in the first period as Tomas Nosek and Nick Holden converted to get the visitors on the board. Max Pacioretty added to the lead early in the second period to put Vegas ahead, 3-0. The Flames battled back as Milan Lucic and Dillon Dube scored to send the teams into the third separated by one goal. With three minutes to play in the third, Matthew Tkachuk scored to level the score, but Shea Theodore scored the go-ahead goal from a sharp angle with 1:10 to play to give the Golden Knights a 4-3 edge. Jonathan Marchessault added an empty-net tally as Vegas escaped with a 5-3 win.

Nick Holden: Holden chipped in two points (1G, 1A) in the victory.
Max Pacioretty:Pacioretty buried his 32nd goal of the season.
Shea Theodore: Theodore tied his career-high in goals as his 12th of the year stood as the game-winner.
