The Vegas Golden Knights took a 3-2 loss to the Montreal Canadiens in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Semifinals on Wednesday night at T-Mobile Arena. The best-of-seven series is tied, 1-1.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Joel Armia and Tyler Toffoli scored in the first period to open a 2-0 edge for Montreal through 20 minutes. Paul Byron added to the Montreal lead in the second period, but Alex Pietrangelo scored late in the frame to get Vegas on the board. Pietrangelo scored again with 5:14 to go in the third period but the Golden Knights couldn't find the equalizer as the Canadiens took the 3-2 win. Carey Price made 29 saves for Montreal including 16 stops in the final frame.
