Max Pacioretty (1G, 2A) and Cody Glass (2A) combined for five points as the Vegas Golden Knights nabbed a 3-1 victory against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night at SAP Center. Vegas improved to 4-0 during the preseason.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Just past the midway mark of the first period, Valentin Zykov picked up a loose puck in front of the San Jose net and stashed into the cage to give the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead. Late in the second frame, Glass fed Pacioretty who wired a shot home to give Vegas the 2-0 edge. A late San Jose goal sent the teams to the intermission separated by just one goal, but Alex Tuch netted a power-play goal early in the third to rebuild the two-goal lead. Marc-Andre Fleury shut the door in the third as the Golden Knights held on for the 3-1 win.
Max Pacioretty: Pacioretty posted three points (1G, 2A) and scored the game-winning goal.
Cody Glass: Glass picked up two assists and recorded a +1 rating.
Marc-Andre Fleury: Fleury stopped 28 of 29 shots including all 11 he faced in the first period.
