UPDATED BAG POLICY
At the request of the National Hockey League, effective immediately, no bags or backpacks will be permitted into T-Mobile Arena, except for small clutches and wallets (5" x 9" x 2" max). These items will be manually screened.
LAST TIME OUT
William Karlsson scored the only goal for the Golden Knights in a 3-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday night at T-Mobile Arena. Robin Lehner made 35 saves for the Golden Knights as they fell below .500 for the first time since 2018-19.
OPPOSITION UPDATE
Edmonton has burst out of the gates to a 4-0-0 start. After sweeping a three-game homestand against Vancouver, Calgary, and Anaheim to start the year, the Oilers knocked off the Arizona Coyotes, 5-1, on Thursday night. Edmonton is tied with the Florida Panthers for the league lead in points with eight so far this season.
Connor McDavid has picked up where he left off last season as he leads the NHL in scoring with 11 points (6G, 5A) in four outings. Leon Draisaitl sits second on the team with eight points (2G, 6A) while Jesse Puljujarvi has enjoyed a strong start with seven points (2G, 5A).
WHEN LAST WE MET…
The Golden Knights and Oilers last shared the ice on March 9, 2020, in Vegas' final game before the league-wide pause. Vegas won that game, 3-2, thanks to an overtime goal from Shea Theodore. Nicolas Roy and Jonathan Marchessault also found the back of the net for the Golden Knights in that game as they improved their head-to-head record to 2-1-0 against Edmonton that season.
VGK SCORING LEADERS
Mark Stone - 3 points (3A)
Max Pacioretty - 3 points (2G, 1A)
Chandler Stephenson - 3 points (2G, 1A)
A VEGAS VICTORY WOULD…
- Mark the 175th win in franchise history
KEYS TO THE GAME
Take Advantage of Edmonton: The Oilers are playing the second game of a back-to-back Friday night in Vegas. The Golden Knights will need a 60-minute effort and capitalize on any fatigue the Oilers show.
You Know Who: McDavid's torrent scoring pace hasn't been slowed by any opponents yet. Vegas will do everything in its power to keep McDavid at bay.
