by Gordon Weigers @GoldenKnights / VegasGoldennKnights.com

The Vegas Golden Knights (11-9-3) hit their home ice for the third game in a row as they take on the San Jose Sharks (10-11-3) on Hockey Fights Cancer night at 7 p.m. at T-Mobile Arena.

NOTES
Vegas and San Jose collide for the third time this season Thursday night. The Golden Knights won both previous matchups this season on Oct. 2 and Oct. 4, respectively.

FORTRESS FESTIVITIES
The Golden Knights will wear specialty Hockey Fights Cancer lavender jerseys during warmups that will be signed and auctioned that night. All proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit organizations that help with early detection and/or with screening for those who can't afford it on behalf of testicular cancer survivor and Vegas defenseman Shea Theodore.

During the game, the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation will present a $75,000 check to pediatric cancer organizations alongside children from the Candlelighters organization.

The game will be presented by The Valley Health System. In partnership with The Valley Health System, every fan at the game will receive a lavender beanie giveaway upon entering the building. There will also be "I Fight For" signs on the concourse for fans to fill out.

LAST TIME OUT
A spectacular showing from Marc-Andre Fleury powered the Golden Knights to a 4-2 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night at T-Mobile Arena. Goals from Cody Glass, Tomas Nosek, Mark Stone and Cody Eakin gave Vegas all the offense it needed to pick up its second win in a row on home ice.

A VEGAS VICTORY WOULD…

  • Mark the 106th win in franchise history
  • Give the Golden Knights their first three-game win streak of the year

SEASON SERIES
The Golden Knights and Sharks opened the season with a home-and-home series. Vegas picked up a 4-1 win at T-Mobile Arena on Oct. 2 in the season opener before skating to a 5-1 win at SAP Center on Oct. 4.

OPPOSITION UPDATE
After reaching the Western Conference Final last season, the Sharks have stumbled out of the gates to a 10-11-3 record. San Jose did put together a six-game win streak from Nov. 5-16, but lost to Edmonton on Tuesday, 5-2. The Sharks sit seventh in the Pacific Division with 21 points.

Logan Couture has racked up 22 points (3G, 19A) to lead the Sharks through 22 games. Evander Kane is the team's top goal scorer (12G) with Tomas Hertl (10G) as the only other Shark with double-digits in tallies.

KEYS TO THE GAME
Do What You Did A Month Ago: Vegas dominated San Jose in all aspects of the game when the teams opened the season against each other. If the Golden Knights can play that style again, they will find success against the familiar foe.

Do It For Theo: Hockey Fights Cancer night will be an emotional one for the Golden Knights as Theodore beat testicular cancer during the summer. It's an important night for the organization for that reason and a win will mean more than just two points.
