LAST TIME OUT
On Saturday night at Capital One Arena, the Golden Knights fell to the Washington Capitals, 5-2. Max Pacioretty and Reilly Smith scored for Vegas but the team's four-game point streak (1-0-3) came to an end.
A VEGAS VICTORY WOULD...
- Be the 104th win in franchise history
- Wrap up the road trip with a 2-1-1 record in four games.
OPPOSITION UPDATE
The Red Wings corrected a four-game losing skid with a 4-2 win against the Boston Bruins on Friday night. Detroit occupies the last spot in the Eastern Conference standings with 11 points. Anthony Mantha's 17 points (10G, 7A) have been a bright spot in an otherwise gloomy start for the Red Wings.
KEYS TO THE GAME
Faster start: Vegas has allowed the game's first goal in seven of their last nine games. Getting on the board first will be key for the team's confidence as the Golden Knights look to get back on track.
Crash The Net: The Golden Knights have proven their ability to get pucks to the net in high quantity, but the group is missing its finishing touch that has been displayed at times earlier in the season. Taking the ugly route to the net should translate to an increase is high-danger chances.
