The Vegas Golden Knights scored two goals in 1:29 to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 overtime victory against the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
After a scoreless first period, Max Comtois potted his third goal of the season to give Anaheim a 1-0 lead midway through the second. The Ducks held onto the lead until the late stages of the third period when Vegas pulled goalie Marc-Andre Fleury and sent an extra attacker out onto the ice. With 1:22 remaining, Mark Stone and Jonathan Marchessault combined to set up William Karlsson for the game-tying goal as he beat John Gibson five-hole. Regulation expired and Vegas and Anaheim went to overtime for the first time this season. Off the puck drop, Stone broke into the Ducks' zone and slipped a pass to Max Pacioretty who hammered a shot past Gibson for the game-winning strike.
