The Vegas Golden Knights (11-11-4) were unable to mount a comeback against the Dallas Stars (15-8-2) as they fell 4-2 on Monday night at American Airlines Center.

HOW IT WENT DOWN
Alexander Radulov and Esa Lindell potted first-period goals for the Stars to give the home team a 2-0 lead. Shea Theodore scored his second goal in as many games to cut the lead to 2-1 in the second period, but Jason Dickinson's goal late in the frame gave Dallas a 3-1 lead heading into the third. Paul Stastny knocked in his seventh goal of the year at 1:23 of the third, but a power-play goal from Radulov with 7:49 to play capped off a 4-2 win for the Stars.

TURNING POINT
Vegas appeared to snag the momentum after the Stastny goal early in the third period. As they pressed for an equalizer, the Golden Knights took a costly penalty in the latter half of the third period leading to the Radulov dagger.

TOP PERFORMERS
Shea Theodore: Theodore scored for the second consecutive game to get Vegas on the board.

Paul Stastny: Stastny netted his 240th career goal in his 900th NHL game.

Alexander Radulov: Radulov's two goals and one assist drove the bus for Dallas offensively.

John Klingberg: Klingberg picked up three assists from the Stars' blueline in the win.

LOOKING AHEAD
Vegas heads to Nashville for the final stop of a two-game trip against the Predators on Wednesday at 5 p.m. PT at Bridgestone Arena.
