The Vegas Golden Knights (10-9-3) broke out of a five-game slump with a 6-0 victory against the Calgary Flames (10-10-3) on Sunday afternoon at T-Mobile Arena.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
After Marc-Andre Fleury made a swimming save midway through the first period, William Karlsson picked up the puck and stormed down the ice to score the game's first goal. With Vegas leading 1-0 in the second period, Paul Stastny cashed in to give the Golden Knights a 2-0 advantage. The flood gates opened in the third period as Max Pacioretty potted his eighth goal of the season before Cody Eakin buried his first tally of the year. Mark Stone and Karlsson scored in the final five minutes of the game as Vegas notched a 6-0 victory on home ice.
Marc-Andre Fleury: Fleury stopped all 34 shots from the Flames for his first home shutout of the season.
Nate Schmidt: Schmidt paced all Golden Knights skaters with four assists in the game.
William Karlsson: Karlsson scored the first and last goal of the game for the Golden Knights in addition to notching his 15th helper of the year.
Max Pacioretty: Pacioretty had two points (1G, 1A) to wrap up the weekend with four points (2G, 2A) in two games.
