The Vegas Golden Knights dropped the final game before the holiday break with a 7-3 loss to the Colorado Avalanche Monday night at T-Mobile Arena.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Vegas fell behind in the first period with Colorado scoring three goals within the first 20 minutes of the contest. Ryan Reaves got the home team on the board to prevent a scoreless first period. The deficit was reduced in the second when a rebound from Max Pacioretty on his own shot found its way to the back of Pavel Francouz's net. But two more goals from the Avs put the Golden Knights down 5-2 by the end of the frame. William Carrier notched his fifth of the season in the first quarter of the third stanza but was quickly answered by Mikko Rantanen. Colorado tallied one more before the end of the night for a final score of 7-3.
The Golden Knights return from the holiday break on Friday and will take on the Anaheim Ducks at the Honda Center at 7:00 p.m. PT. Catch the game on AT&T SportsNet, FOX Sports 98.9/1340.
