Golden Knights Drop Rookie Faceoff Opener, 5-2

Dylan Coghlan scored both goals for Vegas to open tournament

In the first game of the Anaheim Rookie Faceoff, the Vegas Golden Knights dropped a 4-2 decision to the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday afternoon at Great Park Ice & FivePoint Arena.

Dylan Coghlan registered both goals for Vegas in the loss. He scored on a slapshot early in the second period and added his second on a tic-tac-toe play with Cody Glass and Jonas Rondbjerg. Goaltender Jiri Patera played the full 60 minutes in net for the Golden Knights.

Vegas returns to the ice Sunday at 3 p.m. PT as the Golden Knights meet the rookies from the Arizona Coyotes. Fans can catch the action live on and on FOX Sports Radio 98.9/1340.
