A late comeback bid fell short for the Vegas Golden knights (20-15-6) as they fell to the Anaheim Ducks (16-18-4), 4-3, on Friday night at Honda Center in the first game back from the Christmas break.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Jonathan Marchessault scored the game's first goal in the second period to give Vegas a 1-0 lead. The Ducks potted three goals in a row to take a 3-1 edge in the middle period and added to the lead at the midway point of the third. Nate Schmidt scored twice in the final two minutes to cut the Anaheim lead to 4-3, but the Ducks held on for the win.
