The Vegas Golden Knights (18-13-5) notched a 6-3 win against the Vancouver Canucks (16-14-4) on Sunday night at T-Mobile Arena.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Nick Holden opened the scoring early in the first period with his third goal of the season. Elias Pettersson answered for Vancouver, but a power-play goal from Valentin Zykov gave the Golden Knights a 2-1 lead heading into the first intermission. Vegas doubled its lead in the second period as Jonathan Marchessault and Mark Stone scored to put the home team up 4-1. Brock Boeser scored for the Canucks in the third period to cut the Golden Knights' lead to 4-2 but Max Pacioretty answered right back on a breakaway for the fifth Vegas goal of the evening. A Jake Virtanen goal made it 5-3 before Pacioretty scored again to allow the Golden Knights to cruise to the 6-3 win.
