The Vegas Golden Knights skated to a dominant 5-1 win against the San Jose Sharks on Sunday night at T-Mobile Arena. Vegas concluded the preseason with a 5-2 record.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
William Carrier got the Golden Knights on the board in the first period with a deflection that found the back of the San Jose net. Jimmy Schuldt doubled the Vegas lead early in the second period with a power-play goal wired in from the point. Minutes later, Jonathan Marchessault extended the lead on a breakaway after a coast-to-coast effort to make it 3-0. The busy second period continued thanks to a Mark Stone wrister that found the top shelf. Danil Yurtaykin scored the lone goal for San Jose a minute into the third period, but Reilly Smith then slid a puck through the legs of Aaron Dell for the team's second power-play goal of the night to make it 5-1.
