Golden Knights Announce Media Schedule Of Events Surrounding Home Opener

The Golden Knights' home opener will be on October 10 vs. Arizona Coyotes

VEGAS (September 25, 2017) -  Listed below is the Vegas Golden Knights weeklong media schedule of events surrounding the team's inaugural home opener October 10 against the Arizona Coyotes.

UPCOMING PRESEASON SCHEDULE (SEPTEMBER 26-OCTOBER 1)

An important note is that the Golden Knights in-game entertainment team will be utilizing various in-game elements such as goal horns and goal songs during the preseason that are not necessarily what will be used throughout the regular season. Full in-game entertainment elements will be revealed at the home opener on October 10 and beyond.

#VEGASGOESGOLD (THROUGH OCTOBER 10)

The Vegas Golden Knights are launching #VegasGoesGold, a community initiative encouraging all Clark County School District Schools to "Go Gold" on October 10 in support of the Golden Knights inaugural home game against the Arizona Coyotes.

Local classrooms are encouraged to wear gold, Golden Knights apparel, make signs, or find other creative ways to show their Golden Knights pride on the team's home opener day and tweet their photos using #VegasGoesGold. Official entries can be submitted by clicking here. The grand prize selection will receive a visit from a Golden Knights player and the team mascot, in addition to a classroom banner. Second place will receive a pizza party with the Golden Knights mascot and a classroom banner, and an honorable mention will receive lanyards, pencils and a classroom banner.

Submissions must be in by 3 p.m. PT on October 11. Winners will be selected by the Vegas Golden Knights and notified by October 19.

All fans are encouraged to show their support using #VegasGoesGold, but please note only Clark County School Districts are eligible to win.
 

FAN FEST IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE D LAS VEGAS (OCTOBER 3)

The Vegas Golden Knights are hosting an inaugural Fan Fest in partnership with the D Las Vegas ahead of the team's inaugural season. The event is free and open to the public, and will take place from 6-8 p.m. PT on Tuesday, October 3 outside of the D Las Vegas at the 3rd Street Stage, located in Downtown Las Vegas on Fremont Street Experience. In addition, the Golden Knights mascot will be unveiled to the public for the first time presented by GEICO.

Fans will have the opportunity to interact with players as they walk the red carpet under the Viva Vision canopy of the Fremont Street Experience, and be part of the official introduction of the Vegas Golden Knights to Las Vegas. The red carpet will begin at Casino Center and conclude at the 3rd Street Stage. In addition to walking the red carpet, each member of the team including the coaching staff will be formally introduced on stage by team broadcasters Dave Goucher and Shane Hnidy, who will emcee the festivities. Vegas Golden Knights Chairman and CEO Bill Foley, the D Las Vegas CEO Derek Stevens, Vegas Golden Knights Head Coach Gerard Gallant and Vegas Golden Knights President Kerry Bubolz will also be in attendance to support the kickoff of the inaugural season. The Vegas Golden Knights promo team will be present to take part in the fan celebration.

 

VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS MEDIA DAY (OCTOBER 4)

The Vegas Golden Knights are hosting a media day event starting at 10:30 a.m. PT on October 4 at City National Arena. Vegas Golden Knights Chairman and CEO Bill Foley, General Manager George McPhee, Head Coach Gerard Gallant are expected to be available and select players will be available for interviews. 
 

TOPGOLF VIEWING PARTY (OCTOBER 6)

Topgolf and the Vegas Golden Knights are hosting a viewing party for the team's first-ever regular season game Friday, October 6, against the Dallas Stars at Topgolf Las Vegas (4627 Koval Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89190). The event, which is open to the public and free of charge, runs from 4:30-8:30 p.m. PT. The game will be shown live on a 48-foot screen with puck drop scheduled for 5:30 p.m. PT. Fans will have the opportunity to participate in a raffle and receive giveaway items including a free souvenir cup with a complimentary draft beer courtesy of Topgolf. Golf bays are also available for rental.
 

NHL CENTENNIAL FAN ARENA (OCTOBER 10-14)

The NHL Centennial Fan Arena will be stationed in Toshiba Plaza from 2-10 p.m. PT on October 10 and 2-7 p.m. PT on October 11 to celebrate the Golden Knights inaugural home opener and centennial year of the NHL. Please note that from 3-5 p.m. PT on October 11, the Fan Arena will be closed to the public and open only to MGM employees. The Fan Arena will then move to Fremont Street where it will be stationed from 4 p.m.-midnight on October 13 and noon-5 p.m. on October 14. The interactive fan experience honors extraordinary players, teams, and unforgettable moments with an innovative museum, original video content, a first-of-its-kind virtual reality game, and features the most revered trophy in sports - the Stanley Cup®. The event will be free and open to the public.

 

HOME OPENER GOLD CARPET (OCTOBER 10, 3:30 P.M.)

Fans will be able to witness select Golden Knights players arriving at T-Mobile Arena and walking a gold carpet ahead of the team's inaugural home game. The gold carpet will run from through Toshiba Plaza into the arena, with arrivals starting at 3:30 p.m. PT. All fans are welcome to join the festivities.

OPENING NIGHT MARCH TO T-MOBILE ARENA (OCTOBER 10, 4:45 P.M.)

To celebrate the momentous occasion of T-Mobile Arena doors opening for the Golden Knights first-ever home opener, there will be a fan march from New York-New York Hotel to the front doors of the arena. The march, which will feature special fan engagement activities, will start underneath the Brooklyn Bridge at 4:45 p.m. PT and conclude at Toshiba Plaza for a brief ceremony before the doors open at 5 p.m.
