VEGAS (July 13, 2017) -Vegas Golden Knights General Manager George McPhee announced today, July 13, that the team has added J.W. Aiken and Pat Maino to the team's equipment staff. Both Aiken and Maino will assist Head Equipment Manager Chris Davidson-Adams in managing the Golden Knights equipment responsibilities.
Aiken, who officially joined the team on June 22 as the assistant equipment manager, joins the Golden Knights after serving as the head equipment manager for the American Hockey League's Syracuse Crunch for five years. Prior to working with the Crunch, he spent three seasons with the Norfolk Admirals and four seasons with the Providence Bruins. He was part of the Admirals Calder Cup championship in 2011-12 and has made three trips to the Calder Cup Finals (Syracuse: 2012-13, 2016-17). Aiken began his pro career with the Port Huron Beacons of the former United Hockey League, spending one season as the head equipment manager. The Groton, Massachusetts, native graduated with a degree in sports management from Bowling Green State University in 2003. He and his wife, Melinda, have two daughters, Madison and Lillian.

Maino, who is an equipment assistant, joins the Golden Knights after two seasons with the AHL's Ontario Reign. Prior to working in California, he was the equipment manager for Western Michigan University's hockey team after serving as a student manager for three years. The Jackson, Michigan, native is a 2014 graduate of WMU with a degree in exercise science and a minor in biology. In August 2016, he married his wife, Danielle.
