by Kelli Pfiffner @GoldenKnights / VegasGoldenKnights.com

Championship: Providence vs Cornell

Vegas Golden Knights prospect Jack Dugan led Providence College to victory in the championship matchup against Cornell in the Fortress Invitational on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena. Both teams notched a marker in the first, but Parker Ford put Providence ahead in the latter half of the second with an assist from Jack Dugan.

Providence held on to the lead until the final minute of the third when Cornell found the back of the net. After two unsuccessful OT attempts, a sudden death shootout was forced and Dugan notched the winning goal.

Consolation: Ohio State vs Army

In the consolation matchup of the Fortress Invitational, John Keranen opened the scoring with his first-career goal and Army carried a lead into intermission. Midway through the second, Tanner Laczynski scored shorthanded to even the scoring for the Buckeyes.

With the score still deadlocked at one after regulation, Buckeye senior Carson Meyer tucked away the game winner at the 2:27 mark of overtime to give Ohio State the win.
