The Vegas Golden Knights (30-22-8) churned out a tight 1-0 victory against the New York Islanders (33-18-6) on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Vegas and New York skated through a scoreless first period and, just when it looked like they'd do the same in the second, Reilly Smith potted the game's only goal in the final minute of the middle frame. Marc-Andre Fleury finished the game with 19 saves as he locked in the 1-0 win for the Golden Knights.

TOP PERFORMERS
Reilly Smith: Smith's 22nd goal of the season was the only one that beat Semyon Varlamov.
Marc-Andre Fleury: Fleury knocked away all 19 shots that came his way off Islander sticks for the shutout.
Semyon Varlamov: Varlamov made 42 saves on 43 shots for the Islanders.
Ruben: Ruben, a Golden Knights fan who had never held a hockey stick before, netted five shots in a row from center ice to win the MGM Golden Goal and walk away with $30,000 and other MGM prizes.
STAT OF THE KNIGHT
Fleury's 60th career shutout gave him sole possession of 18th all-time in career shutouts. He ranks second among active goalies behind Henrik Lundqvist (64 shutouts).
